Itinerary : Ivato – Antananarivo – Miandrivazo – Morondava – Bekopaka – Morondava – Belo sur Mer – Manja – Morombe – Ambatomilo – Ifaty – Isalo – Ambalavao – Ranomafana– Antsirabe –Antananarivo
With this tour you will discover the Tsingy of Bemaraha, an integral nature reserve located about 230 kilometers of track in the north of Morondava. Tsingy literally means “walking on tiptoe”. Along the way you will pass by the avenue of baobabs, the in-love Baobabs and the sacred baobab. You will also discover different kinds of baobabs from Morondava to Toliara, meet the local people, especially the Mikea community and visit national parks all along the National Road 7.
Day 1: Transfer Ivato – Hotel
After arrival at the airport, iChtus Tour Team will lead you to your hotel in the capital.
Day 2: Antananarivo – Antsirabe – Miandrivazo
After breakfast, you will take the National Road 7 to Miandrivazo. En route, you will visit the workshop of aluminum pot in Ambatolampy, and the town of Antsirabe also called city of water, this town is well known for the volcanic Tritriva lake, its several buildings date back to the first decades of the twentieth century, and its rickwhaws which are the most common means of transportation in the city. You will arrive in Miandrivazo at the end of afternoon.
Day 3: Miandrivazo – Morondava
you will leave Miandrivazo early in the morning to reach Morondava. You will see your first baobab on the way to Morondava. This city is famous for the spectacular avenue of baobabs, 800 years old trees along the road to Belo sur Tsiribihina.
Day 4: Morondava – Bekopaka
Before your departure to Bekopaka, in the north of Morondava, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the avenue of baobabs. You will take two barges to reach Bekopaka. The first will be in Tsimafana. You will cross the Tsiribihina river on a barge. The second is when you arrive in Bekopaka, you will be there by the end of the afternoon.
Day 5 : Bekopaka – Tsingy of Bemaraha – Bekopaka
Early in the morning, you will visit the famous Tsingy of Bemaraha, a national park located in Melaky Region, about 18km of tracks for one hour and half drive from your hotel. The park covers 157 710 hectares. You can observe lemurs, Aye aye, Hapalemur griseus… The Tsingy is characterized by needle-shape limestone formations, the word “Tsingy” means “the place where one cannot walk barefoot”. You can also find 650 types of plants. Back to the hotel in the afternoon.
Day 6 : Bekopaka – Morondava
You will leave Bekopaka around 7.00 o’clock to reach Morondava in the evening passing by the sacred baobab, the in-love baobabs and the famous avenue of baobabs where you will spend several minutes for the sunset behind the giant baobabs.
Day 7 : Morondava – Belo sur Mer
You will leave Morondava in the morning, Belo sur Mer is just hundred kilometers from the city. Belo sur Mer is a town and commune in Madagascar. It belongs to the district of Morondava, which is a part of Menabe Region. The city is popular for its builders of dhows, traditional sailing boats.
Day 8 : Belo sur Mer – Manja
You will leave the town of Morondava around 7 o’clock to reach Manja, a small village where you will spend one night
Day 9 : Manja – Morombe
After breakfast, you will go to Morombe, a small fishing village, Morombe is one of the few small villages in the South-West of Madagascar with general access to electricity, a beautiful place with clean and beautiful beach.
Day 10 : Morombe - Ambatomilo
Departure for Ambatomilo will be at 8 o’clock after breakfast. Free day to enjoy this wonderful place.
Day 11 : Ambatomilo
Relaxing day, free to enjoy beautiful beach with white sands, watching whales, scuba diving, visiting the Vezo village and meeting Mikea community, a descendant of individuals who took refuge in the forest to escape military conflict. Their way of life is perceived by villagers and city dwellers alike as ancestral, contributing to a mystique about them that has inspired various myths and legends. They are commonly believed to be the mythical Vazimba, the original inhabitants of the island. Many Malagasy disbelieve that this community continues to exist in the present day.
Day 12 : Ambatomilo – Ifaty
You leave Ambatomilo to reach Ifaty, your last trip on tracks.
Day 13 : Ifaty - Ranohira
After breakfast, you take the national road 7 to join Ranohira. On the way, you can visit the national park of Zombiste. Ninety species of birds are found in the park, including thirty-eight endemic species, an important bird area. You can also observe the famous lemur catta, Sifaka, the red fronted lemur, thirty-three species of reptile and eight species of amphibian.
Day 14 : Isalo
You will visit National Park of Isalo the whole day, a good physical condition is required for this visit. You will pass by natural pools different from each other, by a magnificent waterfall in the heart of the park, lunch picnic in the middle of the park before returning to the car.
Late in the afternoon, you will watch the sunset through the large window of Isalo.
Day 15 : Ranohira – Ambalavao
You leave the massif of Isalo and take the national road 7 to reach the city of Ambalavao. On the way, you will cross many herds of zebus belonging to the Bara ethmic group, a breeder people.
Day 16 : Ambalavao – Fianarantsoa - Ranomafana
Departure for Ranomafana after breakfast. Visit of Fianarantsoa., you will have the opportunity to visit the upper town of the city, the oldest and most attractive part of town is the pedestrian Haute- Ville (known as Tanana Ambony in Malagasy). It’s famed for its architecture which dates back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Day 17 : Ranomafana
The Ranomafana National Park is well known for its golden bamboo lemur and the naturally warm spring water. The park is a home to several rare species of flora and fauna such as the golden bamboo lemur, the greater bamboo lemur, black and white ruffed lemur and sifaka, and over 130 species of frogs, you can also observe pitta like ground rollers, blue vangas, short-legged ground rollers and brown mesites.

Day 18 : Ranomafana - Ambositra – Antsirabe
After breakfast, you will continue the trip to the spa town Antsirabe or the city of water known for its rickshaw, the most used means of transportation in the city.
Day 19 : Antsirabe – Antananarivo
Departure for Tanà after breakfast, shopping for souvenirs and city tour before flying home.
Day 20 : Antananarivo
Transfer Hotel to Airport.
